Slater Fire Survivors
Those affected by the Slater Fire caused by PacifiCorp have a limited time to recover for their fire-related injuries and damages.
Both the Slater and Devil Fires started in the Klamath National Forest west of Happy Camp, California in the second week of September 2020. The Slater Fire was first detected on September 8, 2020 near the Slater Butte Fire Lookout, and the Devil Fire was first detected on September 9, 2020 north of Devil’s Upper Peak in the Klamath National Forest. Both fires were declared contained on November 16, 2020 after crossing into Oregon. PacifiCorp is responsible for the Slater Fire, and the investigation into the Devil Fire continues.
